The beauty of Whitefish Lake spans more than 35 miles of the Shikwamka/Michipicoten River system including Manitowic Lake that offers hundreds of miles of pristine unspoiled shoreline. Sightseeing is a must around Whitefish Lake with so many waterfalls, cliffs and panoramic views that are waiting to be discovered. Don't forget your camera. August is a great month for families with the temperatures in the mid 70's. The water is warmer this month, than any other. Kids and adults alike love to fish for Walleye right off the dock. You probably won't get the big one from the dock but you will catch a mess of "eaters" for a Canadian Shore Lunch. Bring your bikes and ride along the 3 mile private road. August is also the BEST time for Blueberries. There are enough to keep you busy picking for your entire stay. The kids will love them in the pancakes in the morning. Don't forget to pack some containers to bring some blueberries home too.
